Rosalind (Savino) Rogers, 78, of New Bedford died December 1, 2019 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Oreste A. and Eva (Shaer) Savino, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Ros was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at several local nursing homes for many years until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Christian Fellowship Center.
Ros enjoyed traveling, swimming at the YMCA, walking around Buttonwood Park and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Susan Rogers and Sharon Lally, both of New Bedford; a son, Dennis Rogers and his wife Susan of New Bedford; a sister, Barbara King and her husband Rev. John King of Rochester; 5 grandchildren, Robert, Kristie, Shaystin, Alexandra and Denny Ray; 2 great-grandchildren, Savannah and Marc, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Douglas Rogers and the sister of the late Donald Savino.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10:30 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford. Her family will receive guests from 10-10:30 AM at church prior to the service.
