Rosemarie "Rose" Forsblom, 70, of New Bedford died peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday October 20, 2024 after a brief battle with lung cancer. She was the wife of the late Elmer F. "Butch" Forsblom III and daughter of the late Joseph and Leonora (Costa) Gonsalves.
Rose worked as a waitress for many years at the Green Diner and Shawmut Diner. She later was employed as a cafeteria worker at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending lots of time with her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Amanda Liffers and her husband Thomas of Wareham, Katie Forsblom and her partner Jacob Little of New Jersey, and Jenny Forsblom of New Bedford; her siblings, Doreen Gonsalves of New Bedford, Darleen Nunes and husband Joe of Acushnet, Arnold Gonsalves of Bristol, RI, and Bette Reed of New Bedford; two grandchildren Charlotte and Brayden Liffers of Wareham; her longtime best friend Diane Nunes and husband Doug, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Leonora "Dolly" Reed, John Gonsalves, Robert Gonsalves, Antonio Gonsalves, Joseph Gonsalves, Lawrence Gonsalves, and Ronald Gonsalves.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 28th at 11 AM at Hope Evangelical Community Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth.
