Roy D. Pina, 94, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday February 8, 2025.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Lillian (Lopes) Butler and Frank Pina and his wife Amelia G. Pina, he lived in New Bedford for many years and in California for 22 years.

Roy was formerly employed as a machine operator at Morse Cutting Tools.

In his youth, he had been a boxer in Boston.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Correia of New Bedford; his sister, Dorothy Silva of New Bedford; four brothers, Manuel Rose and his wife Heidi of Lawrenceville, GA, Robert Pina and his wife Jackie of New Bedford, Richard Rose and his wife Sally of Attleboro, and Albert Rose of Middleboro; three grandchildren, Cerissa Ribeiro, Tiffany Pina, and Melissa Pina; several great-grandchildren including, Aiyana Ortiz, Jydell Douglas, Ja'l Douglas and Jae'cyani Douglas; his great-great-grandchild, Kairo Collazo; and nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late David Pina.

His funeral service will be held on Friday March 14th at 10:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  Visitation will be on Friday from 9-10:30 AM prior to the service.  Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
