Russell J. Wilson, 53, of Acushnet died Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Nottingham, England, son of Derrick and Gwenda (Horne) Wilson, he lived in Acushnet for most of his life.

He was employed as a chef by various local establishments, most recently Lee's Market in Westport.

Russell was an avid fisherman, kayaker and skier.

He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Helen Hardy and Rachael Wilson; his nephew, Nicholas Medeiros and his wife, Kaitlyn; his niece, Kelsey Medeiros; and his great nephew, James Medeiros.
