Sandra A. (Ventura) Westgate, 71, of New Bedford passed away Thursday March 27, 2025 at home after a long illness.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone R. and Ruth (Maciel) Ventura, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Sandra was formerly employed as a certified nursing assistant at Hallmark Nursing Home.

She enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting the casino.

She is survived by her children, AnneMarie Lamas and Karl Lamas; her siblings, Ricky Ventura, June Ventura, and Ruth Medeiros; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Antone Ventura, Alvin Ventura, Michael Ventura, Edward Ventura, Emily Leblanc, Kathleen Costa, Rose Reposa, and Rita McDuffie.
