Sarah Chase Hopkins, 85, passed away on June 30, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Hopkins, who passed away in 2024, and the devoted mother of two children.

Sarah had a lifelong love of music and art. She sang in church choirs and chorale groups, played piano, and was an accomplished artist working in oils and watercolors. She began sewing at the age of 12 and became a master quilter, creating beautiful quilts for her family, friends, veterans, and babies. She was also an avid bridge player for many years.

Sarah is succeeded by her daughter Jeanne Hopkins Bernardi (John) of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, and her son Joe Hopkins (Lisa Long) of Harleysville, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and her brother, David Chase.

There will be no formal service. Sarah's ashes will be spread with her husband's at Manitook Lake in Granby, Connecticut, where they both grew up.
