Sean Douglas Sylvia Sr.

Sean Douglas Sylvia, Sr., 51, of Fall River passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Born in Taunton, son of Douglas Sylvia and Gloria (Duarte) Kwasny, he was raised in Norton before living most of his life in New Bedford and Fall River.

Sean enjoyed going to the gym and loved being a member of General Fitness in Fall River. He liked working on cars and recently completed a LS swap in his 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Sean also enjoyed going on walks near Battleship Cove and riding his motorcycle.

Sean worked as a superintendent for Insituform Technologies for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Sylvia; his sons Sean Sylvia, Jr. and his wife Paris, and Joseph Sylvia; his stepson Dracen Torres; his grandchildren, Violet, Hazel, Scarlett, and Sage; the love of his life Jessica Osieja; his mother, Gloria Kwasny and her husband Steve; his father Douglas Sylvia; and his brothers Eric Sylvia and Joseph Sabina, Jr.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Ronald Sabina and Janell Sabina; and his beloved dog Rosie.

According to his wishes, private services will be held. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses who made things bearable for him over the last 2 years.
