Shila A. Barlow, 54, of New Bedford died Monday, December 11, 2023 unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of Deanna (Lebeau) Geggatt and the late Glen A. Geggatt, Sr., she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Shila was employed as a Residential Program Manager for Better Community Living for many years, where she enjoyed providing compassionate care for others. She had also formerly been employed by Tremblay's Bus Company.

Known as "Momma Barlow" to many, she was always helping others and loved to make people happy. Shila loved dancing, being outside, and going for walks, but above all she loved being a mother.

She is survived by her son, Sean Barlow; and her partner, Ray.

Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 12 Noon in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
