Shirley A. (Gill) Arruda, 84, of New Bedford died Friday, January 1, 2021 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Wallace D. Arruda.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late James and Dora Gill, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

Mrs. Arruda enjoyed playing BINGO and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Steven Arruda and his wife Carol of New Bedford; three daughters, Susan Arruda-Suffoletto and her husband Guy of Fairhaven, Janice Trudelle and her husband Randall and Nancy Charbonneau and her husband Chris, all of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Debra Asquino and the sister of the late Katherine Quintin and Dolly Silvia.
