Shirley F. (Giza) Conley, 77, of New Bedford died Monday August 19, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John J. and May (Draper) Giza.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a graduate of Cape Cod Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a communicant of St. James Church.

Mrs. Conley was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at several area nursing homes, including the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Conley, Jr. of Westport; 2 daughters, Bonnie Bill and Beth Ferro, both of New Bedford; a sister, Evelyn Ponte of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

A Private Memorial Mass was held on Saturday morning, August 24th at St. James Church. Burial followed in St. John's Cemetery.
