Shirley L. (Pastie) Poling, 95, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday June 5, 2024 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Harley J. Poling.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Lena (Roppolo) Pastie, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.  She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.

Shirley was formerly employed as an office manager for Universal Roofing & Sheet Metal for 50 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her children, Paula J. Nobrega and her husband James, and Thomas Poling; her brother, Paul Pastie; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nobrega Martin, Ashley Poling Cook, Angela Poling Hawkins, and Austin Poling; two great-grandsons, Charles Martin and Hudson Hawkins; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Raymond Pastie.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday June 21st at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  Visitation will be on Friday from 10 AM – 12 Noon, prior to the service.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association, 93 Worcester St., Wellesley, MA 02481.
