Shirley Ann (Long) Vieira, 71, of New Bedford died Sunday July 5, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Chester, PA, the daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Gicker) Long, she lived in Pennsylvania and Florida before moving to New Bedford in 1978.

She was a former member of South Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Tony A. Vieira and his wife Karen of Mattapoisett; a sister, Barbara Campbell of Claymont, DE; a cousin, Lillian Smith of Lynnwood, PA; five grandchildren, Amy, Mark, and Cyndi Vieira, Zachary Rogers, and Rachelle York; and her daughter-in-law, Doreen S. Vieira of New Bedford.
