Silvino Santos, 89, of Dartmouth died Monday October 3, 2011 at Our Lady's Haven. He was the husband of the late Gladys E. (Costello) Santos.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Manuel and Francisca (Benta) Santos, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life.

Mr. Santos was formerly employed as the service manager for U.S. Furniture and Regal House Furniture until his retirement.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

Survivors include a brother, Albino Santos of Dartmouth; a sister, Alice Torres of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM.
