Statia T. (Ruscik) Dobyna, 82, of New Bedford died Sunday June 23, 2002 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Matthew R. Dobyna,and daughter of the late Stanley and Helena ( Kersznowska) Ruszczyk.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church.

Mrs. Dobyna was formerly employed as a payroll supervisor at the Aerovox Corporation and later as a teacher's aide for the New Bedford Public School System.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Leclerc of Westport; 3 sons, Michael R. Dobyna and Mark S. Dobyna both of Westport, and John M. Dobyna of Tucson, Arizona; 3 brothers, Walter Ruscik of Chicago, Frank Ruscik of Acushnet and Chester Ruscik of New Britain, CT.;4 sisters, Lee Adamowski, Sophie Sladewski, Stephanie Wajda, and Helen Ewaszko, all of New Bedford; 8 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday June 26, 2002 from 5-9 PM. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.'
