Tara J. Roderiques, a beloved Hospice CNA for Compassionate Care Hospice in Bridgewater, MA, passed away peacefully on April 29th. With over 14 years of dedicated service, Tara exemplified what it means to be a compassionate caregiver. Despite her petite stature, she possessed an immense strength and warmth that made a profound impact on the lives of her patients and their families. Tara carried a heavy case load with grace, ensuring that each person felt cherished and valued during their most vulnerable moments.
Outside of her professional life, Tara had a zest for life that was infectious. Breakfast was her favorite meal of the day. She loved to travel, explore new places, and create lasting memories with her family and friends. Her passion for shopping (or poking as she called it) and collecting Rae Dunn was matched only by her joy in celebrating the holidays and birthdays, especially those of others. Music and concerts filled her heart with peace and happiness. She was known for her thoughtful gift-giving, always finding the perfect way to show her love, even in the simplest way.
Tara was a private person, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who truly knew her. She always found a way to make it about you. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched through her work.
Survivors include her siblings, Robyn Nelson, Evelyn Nelson and spouse Brian Houser, Stacey Nelson, Dwayne Nelson and his wife Linda; her godchild, Kayla Perez; her aunt Florence Tavares & her cousins who she also looked at as siblings Antone & Lynne Tavares and the late Ryan Tavares; and her father, James Roderiques. She had many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She is predeceased by her mother, Barbara (Nelson) Roderiques; her sister Kim Avis Payne; and her nephew William "Booda" Payne Jr.
Her visitation will be held on Monday, May 5th from 5-7 pm in Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
It was Tara's wish for cremation and her burial to be private. A celebration of life will be held in the future to honor her.
