Teodoro Correia, 80, of New Bedford died unexpectedly August 20, 2006 while on vacation in the Azores.
He was the husband of Leonor (Xavier) Correia.
Born in Salga, St. Michael, Azores, he had lived in New Bedford since 1969.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in New Bedford.
Mr. Correia was formerly employed by Cliftex for many years until his retirement.
He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Martin Correia, and his wife Maria, of Dartmouth; 2 daughters, Helena Viveiros, and her husband Jose, of Dartmouth and Ilda Livorsi, and her husband Carl, of Lakeville; 2 brothers, Jose Domingos of New Bedford and George Sousa of Ontario, Canada; a sister, Maria Buhoes of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren, Paula, Amy, Jessica, Stacey, Amanda, Matthew and Martin, Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Seth and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Saul Correia.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Monday, August 28th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Sunday, August 27th from 4-8 PM
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
