Teofilo A. Tavares, 94, of New Bedford died September 9, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Agnes D. (Duarte) Tavares.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, he lived in New Bedford since 1953.
Mr. Tavares was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Survivors include a son, John D. Tavares, and his wife Edith, the proprietors of Willow Tree Restaurant, of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Victor Tavares, and his wife Aucilia, of New Bedford and Aguinaldo Tavares, and his wife Elaine, of Brockton; a sister, Aurora Miranda, and her husband Artur, of New Bedford; many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John Tavares and Napolião Tavares.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Monday, September 12th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Saturday, September 10th and Sunday, September 11th from 6-9 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
