Thomas Francis Healy IV, of Wareham, formerly of Kingston, MA, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather known lovingly as "Bumpa," passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 13, 2026.
Tom was a man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved. As a husband, he was a steady source of strength, kindness, and unwavering support. As a father, he taught by example, showing the value of hard work, integrity, patience, and compassion. As a grandfather, he created countless treasured memories filled with laughter, wisdom, and love.
Tom was raised in New Bedford, graduated from Holy Family High School in 1969 and Bentley College in 1973. He made his home in Kingston where he proudly raised his family and built a life centered around those he loved most. Throughout his life, he was deeply dedicated to his family, friends, and community.
Through his career in nursing home administration-serving as the administrator of Catholic Memorial Home (Fall River, MA), Marian Manor (Taunton, MA), and Beatrice Marie (Dorchester, MA), he cared for countless families with compassion and integrity. He was also the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award by the Taunton Rotary Club, a recognition given to those who exemplify the motto Service Above Self.
Whether through his work, his joy in finding the next best thing for his grandchildren, and the quiet acts of generosity that defined his character, Tom made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Tom was the only brother among seven siblings, with three older sisters and three younger sisters. Family gatherings, holidays, and even the simplest moments spent together meant the world to him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susan (Paster) Healy; his sons, Thomas Francis Healy V and his wife Elizabeth (Fleming) of Norwood, and James Michael Healy and his wife Kristin (Doucette) of North Andover; and his beloved grandchildren, Brayden James, Allie Carol, Lucas Thomas, Thomas Francis VI, and Hannah Josephine.
He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Tweedie of Fairhaven; Martha Monti and her husband Anthony of Holbrook; Marsha Rego and her husband Jerry of East Bridgewater; and Kathleen Greely and her husband Wallace of New Bedford, along with many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann (Johnson) Healy and Thomas F. Healy III; his sisters, Ann Cafferty, and her husband George; Mary (Macy) Ducharme and her husband, Arthur and his brother-in-law, Dennis Tweedie.
Tom's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to live on through the family he cherished so deeply. He was a kind and gentle man whose warm heart was matched only by his wonderful sense of humor; he was always the first to step up when someone was in need or to crack a joke to lighten the mood. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, May 20th from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Road, Mattapoisett, MA. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 11:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM in Saint Anthony's Church, 26 Hammond St., Mattapoisett, MA. Burial will take place privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Diocesan Health Facilities.
