Thomas A. Hinchey, 57, of New Bedford died suddenly on Friday June 23, 2017.

Born in Lisbon Falls, ME, the son of Betty (Burgess) Tavares DeBrum of St. John's Island, SC and the late James Hinchey, he lived in Cape Cod most of his life before moving to New Bedford two years ago.

He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his son, Andrew Hinchey of New Bedford; his daughter, Sabrina Hinchey of New Bedford; two brothers, James Hinchey of East Bridgewater and Mark Hinchey of Norton; a sister, Catherine Jackson of South Carolina; a half-brother, Jim DeBrum of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Sebastian and Leilani; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
