Thomas V. Machado, 71, of New Bedford passed away Thursday November 4, 2021 from complications of Covid-19.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Urbano G. and Alice (Sheehan) Machado, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Tom was formerly employed as a corrections officer at MCI Bridgewater until his retirement.

During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter M14 award.

He was a member of the Madeira Club.

He is survived by three daughters, Christina, Melinda, and Charlene; his siblings, Judy Gobeil and Danny Machado and his wife Jan; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Avery Machado; and his siblings, Bill, Janice, Butch, Choo, and Randy.
