Tito L. Gomes

Tito Livio Gomes, 76, of New Bedford, formerly of Dorchester, passed away Tuesday December 9, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Antonio Gomes and Maria Pina. He came to the United States in 2007, settling in Boston and moved to New Bedford last year.

Tito was formerly employed as a food service professional at Northeastern University until his retirement.

He enjoyed dancing and listening to Cape Verdean music.

He is survived by his wife Maria Lina Gomes; four sons and six daughters; three sisters; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by two sons, three sisters, and three brothers.

His funeral will be held on Saturday December 20th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday December 19th from 4-8 PM.
