Victoria Marie Furness, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and longtime resident of Freetown, MA, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Woburn, Massachusetts, Victoria was the daughter of the late Frank Daniel Barnaby and Theresa (Feola) Barnaby. She spent more than 30 years building a warm and welcoming life with her best friend and love of her life, William Furness, Jr. in Freetown, a place she treasured.
A dedicated and resilient woman, Victoria raised her son, Luke Holbrook, as a single parent, providing him with unwavering love, guidance, and strength. She later welcomed her daughter-in-law Julie Ann Holbrook, and took immense pride in her grandson, Michael Holbrook, whom she adored.
Victoria was the beloved wife of William Furness Jr., with whom she shared a deep and joyful partnership. Through this union, she embraced her extended family with open arms, becoming a caring and supportive stepmother to Kari (David) MacRae, William (Marlena) Furness III, JenniPelletier, and Peter Furness, and a loving grandmother to their children. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy. She is also survived by her brothers Dennis (Joan) Barnaby and Jeffrey Barnaby. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews, including Cherilyn, Caroline, Shikara, and Tina, who held a special place in her heart.
Victoria was predeceased by eight siblings, Daniel (Linda) Barnaby, Theresa Chisholm, Donald Barnaby, Edward Barnaby, John Stacy Barnaby, Deborah (Richard) Nugent, Diane C. Gary, and Gary (Diane) Barnaby.
Victoria built a respected career as a professional medical biller, known for her diligence, attention to detail, and quiet professionalism. Outside of work, she embraced a rich and active life. She was an avid bowler and a proud member of a competitive bowling championship.league. Creativity flowed naturally to her, and she spent countless hours painting vibrant works that reflected her artistic spirit.
Summers were particularly meaningful to Victoria. She loved seasonal camping adventures with her loving husband by her side, most often in Connecticut, where she enjoyed swimming, relaxing outdoors and listening to live music. Many of her happiest and earliest memories were made at Honey Pot Lake, where her brothers' band-and even her future husband-often performed.
Victoria will be remembered for her warm heart, nurturing nature, creativity, and deep love for her husband and family. Her presence brightened every gathering, and her absence will be felt by all who knew and loved her.
Her legacy lives on in her family, her friendships, and the joy she brought into the world.
