Virginia Kennard, 89, of New Bedford died Wednesday August 15, 2012.

Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Dimond and Bertha (Upham) Kennard, she lived in Wrentham for many years before moving to New Bedford 25 years ago.

Virginia was a sweet and gentle soul. She was an angel. She loved animals and dancing.

Survivors include two nieces and a nephew in South Carolina; and her friend and caretaker, Benvinda P. Fernandes of New Bedford and her family.

She was the sister of the late Joyce E. Dibble.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday morning 9-11 AM prior to the service. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
