Vivian E. (Johnson) Laks, 80 of New Bedford died July 11, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Albert Laks.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Eugene and Agnes (Sward) Johnson, she was raised in Sweden before returning to New York after World War II and to New Bedford in the 1960's.
Survivors include her son, Glenn Laks of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Linda Santos and her husband Wayne of Acushnet and Laila Taber and her husband Richard of Jupiter, FL; a sister, Evelyn Tomiak of California; a brother, Edwin Eng of Long Island; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Laks, Matthew Santos and Michael Santos; several nieces and nephews.

Her private funeral arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
