Wayne A. Gonsalves, 57, of New Bedford died Wednesday December 7, 2011 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Edward and May (Fernandes) Gonsalves, he lived in New Bedford for many years.

Wayne was employed as a cook and enjoyed playing pool.

Survivors include three children, Brian Gonsalves and Michael Gonsalves, both of Salisbury, NC, and Evan Burke of New Bedford; his siblings, Edward Gonsalves of Worcester, Thomas Gonsalves, Marie Gonsalves and Michael Gonsalves, all of New Bedford, and Raven Gonsalves of Atlanta, GA; and two grandchildren.

His Funeral Service will be held on Sunday December 11, 2011 at 1 PM in The Worship Center, 205 Middle St., New Bedford. Viewing at the Church beginning at 12:30 PM. Please omit flowers.
