Wayne King, Sr., 62, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was the husband of the late Stacey (Hubbard) King.

Born in Boston, son of the late Jacob and Aggie (McKinnie) King, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.

Wayne served proudly in the U.S. Army.

Wayne enjoyed grilling, watching movies, telling jokes, and bringing candy and treats to his grandchildren. He was a mentor to many living in the Roosevelt Apartments. Wayne was a member at the City of Joy Church.

Survivors include his children, Wayne King, Jr., Dominique King,  Michael Hubbard, and Tanica Hubbard; his siblings, Michael Robinson, Lorenzo King, Cedric King, and Jacob King; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

His burial will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA 02532. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the cemetery.
