William M. "Bill" Smith, 52, of New Bedford died Friday October 7, 2011 unexpectedly at home.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Laura M. (Haskell) Gragg and the late William C. Smith, he lived in Rhode Island and New Bedford for most of his life.

Mr. Smith formerly owned and operated an electronics repair business.

He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1977-1981.

Survivors include his mother Laura; his daughter, Alexia, his siblings, Steven and Evelyn; his former wife Lori, and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was the grandson of the late Elmer and Laura Haskell and stepson of the late Robert Gragg.

Private arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
