William J. McMullen, 84, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9th, 2022. He was the husband of Gayle E. (Lee) McMullen.

Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Kimball) McMullen. He was the last of his 7 siblings.

Bill enjoyed bingo, scratch tickets, and fishing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He worked at Revere Copper for 33 years. Bill served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife; his children, David McMullen and his fianceé Pam, Steven McMullen and his wife Sharleen, Lori McMullen, Barbara Velho and her husband Timothy, and Edward McMullen; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins.

William's visitation will be held on Friday, January 14th, from 4-8 P.M. in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals 495 Park St., New Bedford. A service will be held in the funeral home at 6 P.M. during the wake.
