We remember Winifred Yvonne Youngblood Pina, who transcended this experience on December 11, 2024, leaving an indelible legacy of faith and love.

Winifred was a lifelong New Bedford resident who took immense pride in her career in education and ability to meet the needs of anyone in her care.

She is survived by her children, Frank Pina, Jr., Jan Leitao-Pina, M.D., Wesley Pina, and Gailyn Pina Gomes; her grandchildren, India Mendez, David Guadalupe, Jr., Sydney Leitao-Pina, and Jacob Pina; her siblings, Barry Youngblood, James Youngblood, and Wendy Depina; and several loving great-grandchildren, family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jordan Leitao-Pina, her parents, Julian E. T. and Bessie (Blake) Youngblood, and her brother, Julian E. T. Youngblood, Jr.

Her visitation will be held on Thursday December 19th from 9-11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by her funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization "Winnie" generously admired. Psalm 91:11
