Obituary

Yvette G. (Major) Goldsmith, 85, of New Bedford died December 22, 2008 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Westport, the daughter of the late Horace and Amanda (Michaud) Major, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in New Bedford.
Mrs. Goldsmith was formerly employed by Aerovox for over 20 years and later retired from Isotronics.
She enjoyed playing the guitar and singing country and western music.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Goldsmith of New Bedford; "her boy" David Arruda of New Bedford; a sister, Anna Gibbs of New York City; a godchild, Jacqueline Brisson of Dartmouth; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ludivena Guilbeault, Blanche Gauvin, Cecile Goulet, Leo Major and Edmund Major.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Saturday, December 27th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 9 AM. Visiting hours Friday, December 26th from 4-8 PM.
