Zelda A. (Perry) Rosa, 83, of New Bedford died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at home after a brief period of declining health.  She was the wife of John H. Rosa, with whom she shared 34 years of marriage.

Born in Tewksbury, MA, daughter of the late John Perry and Adeline (Pimental) Justley, she was raised in Fairhaven and then moved to New Bedford where she resided for most of her life.

Zelda was a graduate of Fairhaven High School and Southeastern Massachusetts University.  She later graduated from LaBaron Hairdressing Academy and received her Class 1 Cosmetology License.

She was employed as a cosmetologist for many years at both Plaza 100 and Backstage Stylists.

Zelda enjoyed knitting, crafts, painting, adult coloring books and reading.

She is survived by her husband John; her grandson, Corey Ponte and his fiance Jackie Ellis; and her great-granddaughter, Freya Ponte.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Ponte.
